Secretary of State's Domain Name Found Hosting Porn

Wis. official's former Web site now porn (redOrbit)

The Wisconsin secretary of state said he was disgusted to find his former campaign Web site, which was sold to save money, is now home to pornography. Secretary of State Doug LaFollette, 69, said his campaign stopped paying the monthly $25 fee to maintain rights to the site's domain name, assuming it would be available when election time came back around, but someone else registed the domain and plasted it with money-making porn.

Does your domain need a behavioral housecall?

Domain names have earned the title of America's investment pet in part because they outnumber web sites in households across the country, but it could also be because their quirky personalities and low cost of ownership make life interesting.

RE: Safeguard intellectual property notice -- internet Trademark

Your message is not sent in good faith. You are trying to scare people into registering domains they do not need, by telling them that someone is trying to register Chinese domains using their trademark. In our case, the name HAS NO TRADEMARK.
I suspect you are the same company I have talked about in my blog in the past, and this message will also appear in my blog to warn others that look for information about your company. This should help to stop your attempt to get people to buy domains they don't need, at excessive prices they shouldn't have to pay.
Trying to scare people into doing business with you is misguided, if not just evil. If you can't run an honest business you need to consider another type of business to be in. You damage your company's image, and that of your entire country, in my opinion.
In the past you or your co-workers have posted on my blog that you are doing nothing wrong and that I am the one causing problems. But all one has to do is search on the Internet and find many others that say the same thing about you that I do. Here are a few of the other sites that expose your scam:
publicrelationsassociationofwnc.blogspot.com
firetrust.com/en/blog/chris/domain-name-scams
promomasters.at/blog/
In anyone knows how we can report this ongoing problem to ICANN or APNIC, please let us know! :-)

Restricted list of registered site domains considered

NEW YORK - The Internet's key oversight agency is considering a centralized database of trademark holders to cut down on questionable registrations of new Internet addresses. Officials say the mechanism won't preclude a new Web site from being created at, say, "www.apple.farm" by someone outside Apple Inc. But it would create hurdles. Backers of the idea say it is needed so trademark holders are protected. Others feel the move would keep lawyers from getting the additional work they need in these tough economic times...

Internet regulator mulls cybersquatting block

The Internet's key oversight agency is considering a centralized database of trademark holders to cut down on questionable registrations of new Internet addresses. No word yet if trademark holders or domain owners everywhere would have to foot the bill for this.

Lawyers are upset, since this may cut into the substantial business generated from sending C&D letters and suing domain owners that think they have some right to a domain name containing a trademark, some vauge connection to a trademark, or may someday be confused by some senile person that thinks the domain may be a trademark, but they are not sure and click anyway...
